- Tenedor del Cerro- Amazing view and amazing food. If the wait is long, zip line while you wait + they have a shuttle that takes you to central Antigua (Antigua, Guatemala)
- Clios- the best Risotto I've ever had + they serve gluten free bread (you have to ask them for it) AND palate cleansers between courses. Order the Anitpasto Rostizado for an appetizer and the Pechuga de Pollo Rostizado for your main course. You can thank me later. (Guatemala City, Guatemala)
- Casa Chapina-for authentic Guatemalan food. Ask to see the menu in English. (Guatemala City, Guatemala)
- Montano's (Guatemala City, Guatemala)
Ven Aca swim up bar |
- Relax and have a drink in the swim up bar at Ven Aca. (Lake Atitlan, Guatemala)
- Have a Spa Day at the Thermal Spa. They even pick you up! (Amatitlan, Guatemala)
- See the Mayan Ruins (Mixco Viejo, Guatemala)
- Go on a historical tour of the old Capitol City (Antigua, Guatemala)
- Go for a stroll, shopping, zip lining, Top Tee (it is just like Top Golf), or have dinner in Cayala. It is beautiful there! (Cayala, Guatemala City)
- VIP Movie experience in Fontabella Plaza. Cine Bistro, located on the 2nd Floor. (Guatemala City, Guatemala)

- There are occasional earthquakes. Nothing to worry about! I experienced four earthquakes in the three months I was there, but there was no damage just a minute or less of shaking. The buildings are built to withstand them since they are so common.
- Do not drink the water. I even brushed my teeth with bottled water and ordered all drinks without ice. "Sin hielo " is how to ask for no ice in Spanish. Hielo is pronounced: yay-low.
- Be patient. Traffic going in and out of Guatemala City is terrible!!! Try to leave no later than 8am for day trips and be patient on the way back. Your tour guide should know the best times to travel.
- There are tonsss of malls in the city! My favorite are: Arkadia Mall, Oakland Mall and Miraflores.
